Costus Root Oil is extracted from the dried roots of Sassuriea costus plant which is native to Indian Sub continent. It is a large perennial plant with lots of black colored flowers. The root of Sassuriea costus is bitter in taste and has medicinal properties.
This root is first set in warm water and then steam distilled to extract the oil.
Costus Root Oil / costus oil is a thick, brownish-yellow colored liquid with a low but persistent odor. Therefore it is used in creating various incenses, perfumes and cosmetics. However it has many medicinal applications as well.
